Biography

Kelsi Bailey

Special Education Director

Kelsi earned her M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Utah and a B.S. in Communication Disorders from Utah State University. She brings experience as an intervention specialist through her opportunities working as an SLP in the public school system for grades K-12. During this time, she worked as a district Team Lead for the USBE state initiative aimed at improving math proficiency scores for students with disabilities. Recently, Kelsi has been working as an Inclusion Coordinator for a Montessori school where she designed and implemented inclusive and adapted curriculum for students in 4th-12th grade. In this position, she co-lead a sensory-integration program that focused on teaching academic concepts through art-based strategies, which has become a passion of hers.

Additionally, Kelsi has worked as an SLP at Primary Children’s Medical Center and LDS Hospital, providing cognitive therapy to patients with traumatic brain injuries or other cognitive disorders. She loves working with students to improve cognitive and academic skills such as working memory, executive functioning, reading comprehension, written expression, math reasoning, and communication skills.

Kelsi loves traveling, skiing, hiking, reading, going to musicals, and playing soccer in her spare time.
