Griffin Legacy of Greatness

Not only are we teaching kids the value of school, of getting a degree, which will change generations, but we want to create a legacy of greatness so that kids are bringing their kids here. 

Our legacy lives well beyond a student's time at Salt Lake Academy. 

A group of Griffins is called a Pride because it’s half lion, half eagle. So we talk about that family side of things. When you become a Griffin, you’re a Griffin for life, you’re a Griffin forever. All kids who graduate with scholarships are gifted a shirt that said “Griffins Forever.” 

Take a mighty eagle, take a mighty lion. We’re not the same as other schools. This hybrid, this unique animal, is what we’re trying to create. It’s different than just being a lion or an eagle. Begin a Griffin is combining king of the jungle and king of the air, so we are all of it.

Developmental School

Salt Lake Academy is a developmental school. This means we don’t cut students from teams–everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow and get better

We had nine boys soccer teams last year–everything from varsity down to provisional / charter leagues. Everybody gets the opportunity to play. With our focus on academics, it’s a goal that every kid is able to walk out these doors with scholarship opportunities and generational changes.

Community Service

Salt Lake Academy places a high value on community service–teaching our student athletes the value of service, the value of being involved in the community, and the value of giving back. 

That’s what is all comes down to, how good of a human you’re going to be. Are you creating a lifestyle of making things better for people around you?

Vision

We believe it is essential for secondary students to understand they are in control of their educational experiences and their paths to successful futures. 

We believe the most important factor in a secondary student’s educational success is their relationships with superior teachers who empower students by providing guidance and encouragement. 

We believe teachers should be mentors who understand their student’s strengths and weaknesses and who coach each student through their secondary education experience. 

We believe current technology coupled with a curriculum provides a powerful tool for individually-tailored student learning and for real-time assessment of progress to inform, encourage and guide students and their teachers.
