Dr. Grant Stock is the high school principal for Salt Lake Academy High School. Dr. Stock has always had a passion for education and received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Chemistry from Utah Valley University in 2006. He earned his Masters in Education Administration in 2010 from William Woods University. In 2018 he completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
Dr. Stock began his career at Tooele Junior High, where he taught 7th and 8th-grade science. In 2007 Dr. Stock moved to Missouri, where he taught physics and chemistry at Midway High School. It was with some reluctance that Dr. Stock decided to leave the classroom and take a job as the high school principal of Crane High School. This turned out to be a great move for him, and he served as the principal at Crane High School for six years. In 2017 His desire to return to the Salt Lake Valley and his love of STEM caused him to apply for and accept the invitation to be the principal of the Salt Lake Academy High School. After a restructure at Salt Lake Academy in December 2022 Grant Stock became the Director of the school.
In addition to being the Director of Salt Lake Academy, Grant Stock serves as an online professor at Grand Canyon University. He teaches teaching strategies (teacher pedagogy) to graduate-level students seeking to either become professors or continue their education in the k-12 setting. This has been very rewarding and keeps him in touch with current teaching practices and strategies.
Dr. Stock has been married for 28 years to his wife Robin and has seven wonderful children, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, and five grandchildren. His favorite hobby is spending time with his family, but he also enjoys camping and hiking in the outdoors, playing soccer, racquetball, and basketball. Dr. Stock enjoys serving at Salt Lake Academy and feels that his whole educational career has led up to this opportunity. He looks forward to many years of serving the students, parents, and community at Salt Lake Academy.
